Our Commercial Story

Our commercial flooring journey began more than 25 years ago.

In 1996, our founder received an invitation to bid on a gymnasium project in Michigan for legendary boxing champion Muhammad Ali. At the time, he and his future wife were still dating, and as a fun part of our story, he invited her to travel with him to measure the project hoping to impress her. They were awarded the contract to install a specialized impact-resistant flooring, marking the beginning of a journey.

A few years later, they were invited to complete another milestone project at Belmont Golf Country Club in Northern Virginia. That opportunity opened the door to the fitness and commercial flooring industry, and from there our experience continued to grow.

Today, Nova HomeWorks has completed commercial flooring installations across Virginia, New York, Texas, Kansas, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and many other states. We’ve had the privilege of working in more than 100 fitness facilities, including projects for OneLife Fitness, Crunch Fitness, Gold’s Gym, and many other health clubs. Our commercial portfolio also includes hotels such as Marriott, Hyatt, and Residence Inn, as well as hospitals, universities, schools, and other institutional facilities.

Although we are not the largest company in the industry, we take pride in every project we complete.

Our story has never been only about floors.

When Nova HomeWorks was founded, the goal was also to create opportunities for people. Over the years, we’ve seen team members who were facing the loss of their homes earn a stable income and keep their families together. We’ve worked alongside individuals who were struggling through difficult legal situations and were able to regain stability because they had meaningful work and a chance to rebuild their lives.

We have also invested in training and mentoring people to build successful careers in the construction industry. Many individuals who started with us learned valuable trade skills and professional standards that helped them advance into leadership positions or pursue new opportunities with larger organizations.
